Dr. D’Alessandro has over 15 years of experience as a drug chemist. Currently, she serves as the Drug Chemistry training coordinator at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. In this role Dr. D’Alessandro educates drug chemists in all aspects of casework as well as contributes to the reporting and reviewing of casework. Her other roles with the department have included method development and validation within Drug Chemistry as well as provided testimony on the interpretation of the analogue criteria under the Alabama Criminal Code. Dr. D’Alessandro received her PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and she holds certification in Drug Analysis from the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC-DA).
